Northern Serbs pay electricity, over 22m euros in losses for two years

For less than two years, Kosovo has incurred a 22.6m-euro loss of electricity in the northern part of the country. All of this is a burden to the state budget. Meanwhile, the company that's going to begin running into that section has not yet been licensed, despite having been reached as a deal six years ago.
Although the agreement on resolving energy problems in the northern part of Kosovo was reached in 2013, this agreement is not yet being implemented.
Part of the deal has been to register a company where Serbian broadcasting owners are in order to begin the evacuation. This company's official ARBK website only figures recorded by November 2018 but has not yet been licensed.
The Electric Energy Regulatory Office, which has to license the company in question, has said they have not received a license application.
So far we have not yet accepted an app, as required with law and regulations in force, from any supply company in the north of the country. The reasons cannot be known to the regulator, but you have to ask for clarifications from the company or the parties you're referring to for the agreement reached”, says the ZRERE response to Rtv Dukagjin.
Meanwhile, television has contacted the representative authorised by the Drustvo Elektrosever company, but the latter in writing has said that he is not authorized to provide answers to the issue.
Meanwhile, COSTT, which last year received 1m euros from the Kosovo government to cover electricity losses in the north and preserve network functionality, says it has not been buying energy for covering losses for Kosovo's north supply.
“COMM STT from December 2nd 2017 does not make the purchase of energy for covering losses for Kosovo's north supply, subsequently, for covering this consumption. Energy withdrawal from the Electronic System of Continental Europe is equal to electricity consumption in 4 municipalities in the northern part of Kosovo. Due to northern consumption, the intercontact system has unauthorizedly withdrawn 451.5 GWh electricity worth 22.6 m for the period 02.12.2017- 17.10.2019”, says COSTT's response.
Dardan Abazi, researcher from INDEP, has said that the integration of the northern part is important, and then the licensing of the company that would make fats and investments because without the cost burden being implemented falls on Kosovo
If they had the rule of law there, even the patented supplier would have been able to do the billing and bankrolling of the money to be spent. In the current situation, no suppliers are able to do the billing of energy, nor to use other measures such as the deadlock from the” power grid, Dardan Abazi said.
Otherwise, the four northern municipalities since the post-war have not paid for electricity expenses.
