Fajon tells Vuchiqi: Serbia among most serious EU candidates

Eurodeputt Tanja Fajon has said the European Parliament is committed to EU enlargement and that, according to her, Serbia is among the most serious candidates.
During a meeting he had with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, she has praised his country for economic successes and thanked for the possibility of the European Parliament brokering dialogue between authorities and opposition.
Fajon expressed concern for media freedom, but congratulated the head of the Serbian state for the development of a media strategy, Klen Kosova broadcasts.
For his part, Vuciq congratulated Fajon on her election as head of the EU-Serbia Parliamentary Stabilisation and Association Committee delegation.
He positively praised the EU's member states' agreement for holding the most important positions and voiced hope that EU institutions, as well as the new composition, will continue to support Serbia's enlargement policy and European path.
Vuciq stressed that Serbia welcomes Vladimir Bilcik's election to the post of new rapporteur of the Parliament Europe for Serbia, with gratitude to his predecessor, David McAllister, for his active contribution and support in Serbia's European integration, Transmeton Klan Kosova.
” Serbia is dedicated to peace and stability in the region, and regional co-operation, strengthening relations with neighbours, and the policy of continued reconciliation are our foreign policy priorities, Vuciq said, adding that Serbia costs great importance to the Berlin process, whose importance is reflected in supporting Western European integration through projects and concrete”.
