US State Department: Priorities for New Government, Dialogue With Serbia

The US State Department has commended Kosovars for the successful outcome of early elections.

A spokesman for The UN has reiterated America's position of waiting for the new Kosovo leadership to be willing to engage immediately in dialogue with Serbia, KTV reports.

We welcome the opportunity to work with a new government, pro-dialog, when it is formed and which is dedicated to strengthening democracy and ensuring peace, justice and prosperity for all Kosovo citizens. We have been clear to our expectations that Kosovo's new leadership will be willing to engage immediately with Serbia to work on the agreement normalising relations”, an American State Department spokesman has said.
