Garbage containers are packed and trash is scattered throughout the streets of the English city of Birmingham, as cleaning workers have entered the strike. That way, they haven't taken waste for seven weeks.
About 30 employees of the cleaning company have joined the strike of several other workers who have refused to do the job because of a payment dispute. Photos taken in the city feature containers filled with garbage in the residential area. Residents say cleaning workers have not taken up the waste for seven weeks.
Disgruntled workers are demanding equal treatment with other workers of the same company working in other countries. Uplinking talks between the workers' union and the city council have failed, so workers decided to take concrete measures to express disappointment, writes “Daily Mail”,
