For 10 hours, the whole city of Pristina, at temperatures of minus 13 degrees Celsius, has remained in central heating, between Sunday and Monday this week.
The reason for this has become the burning of an electric power cable that supplies Termocos with power, reports 038 at KTV.
According to the latter, problems have also emerged as a result of unprecedented power cuts on the part of KEDS.
Residents complain that in these cold days, heating breaks are not normal.
In the city's heater, they say the situation with the supply of central heating has now stabilised.
We've been supplying enough and quality to all of our consumers with central heating since Tuesday. There may be some serious problem here due to technical problems that could happen on the secondary heating network, which are not even the legal responsibility of the Termocos to repair, but in the absence of any council that would deal with them or residents, with ZRE regulations we've also been allowed to intervene in the secondary heating network so that our consumers don't go without heating in these cold winter days of”, said Venus Uka Fyzullah, spokesman at Temokos.
Uka-Fejzullahu has stated that in the case of this defect, the use of mazut has not been possible, as an alternative to ensuring heat, because, as he has said, their devices spend a very high power capacity.
The thermocos has no generator that could function the large energy cogeneration system, because according to the heater, very high capacity is needed.
“We have a generator that's only enough to keep the main part of these devices vital, just to not fail or risk the well-being of this device, but not to produce heat energy”, she said.
Uka-Fejzullahu has indicated that such a generator does not exist in Kosovo, but after the situation presented with the KED, will be considered the possibility of securing a very high capacity generator.
Locals like the “Breg of the Sun” and “Ulpiana” have complained about low levels of heat. This, according to Termoko's spokeswoman, is due to the old network and that it is working on improving the situation.
While he added that for citizens with heating cuts, there will be discounts on their bills.
“We are very careful in billing these residents because any disruption of the heating supply is automatically down from their heating bill, whether it's even in question for a few hours, they'll have discounts from their bill for a full day unless that day they're properly supplied with heat”.
In the Energy Regulatory Office, they have said they cannot take any measures due to the Trmoko technical problems.
