Daniel Serwer: Agreement with Serbia brings recognition to Kosovo, but not seating at UN

Analyst Daniel Serwer estimated that the White House is giving only one incentive in Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

“I have not seen any commitments, there will be awards and awards if any agreements are reached between Serbia and Kosovo”, Serwer said through Skype for public television.

According to him, the award will be the signing of the agreement and waiting at the White House. “I am optimistic about a possible agreement, but I still do not see any clear solution for Kosovo's membership in the UN, the agreement would have recognition and exchange of ambassadors, but for UN membership, I do not see it for now because of Russia”, he said.

According to him, the agreement is that Serbia must remove Kosovo on its road to the EU. There will be no losers or winners, it will be victorious for both countries. The solution will be bilateral recognition and ambassador sending, will be very detailed. It's hard to predict what details they'll be. It won't be a simple deal. The final point is that the issue of mutual recognition between the two states must be resolved, Serwer has said.
