A country in Colombia bears the name of the Albanian state. But very few Albanians certainly know that.
The city named Albania is a municipality centre in the Columbia Department of La Guajira, in the Caribbean Sea, broadcasts Albania.
The province's name was Calabato and was changed to Albania in 1937 by a commissioner from La Guajira.
The commissioner named the province Albany because his wife was named Alba.
However, there is another version that says the commissioner named him by referring to our country.
Albania's population is a relatively new population of 51% of men and 49% of females. 29% of them consider themselves autochthons, while 10% mestizo, raizal or afro-computan.
