The state intended to seal the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia at the White House, through diplomatic representation in Pristina, has called for the Government to suspend the tax decision in order to give it a chance to reach the agreement.
The American Embassy in Pristina has listed two essential interests in the next phase, which they have said should be a priority for Kosovo, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The United States has repeatedly sought the leadership of Kosovo to immediately suspend the cargo tax from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As we have said, we do not see any benefit of Kosovo from these measures. We strongly encourage renewed focus on Kosovo's core goals -- the European future and normalisation of relations with Serbia” -- said the American Embassy's response, sent to “Koha Ditore”.
The paper has asked about the preparations being made for reaching the agreement, following the pre-reported meeting between President Thaci and US Ambassador to Berlin Richard Green, one of Trump's most trusted. But their answer has been missing.
