The 31-year-old told the judge in Washington that he is a patriotic American who made a mistake when he lied.
He was convicted after last October he lied The FBI for a few meetings with Moscow.
He is the first former adviser to the US president to be arrested by investigations into possible Russian interventions to influence the 2016 presidential election in the US.
