The start of the petition was warned by the Democratic People's Party, a member of the Democratic Front, whose members, under the leadership of President Milan Knezevic, visited northern Mitrovica on Sunday, at the invitation of the town's mayor, Goran Rakic.
The Democratic People's Party said that “at least 85% of Montenegro's citizens do not support the false recognition of the state of Kosovo”, reports the Balkan Radio Free Europe Service.
Montenegro has recognised Kosovo eight months after it declared independence, respectively, in October 2008.
