Prizren Chief Prosecutor: Family Violence Cases to Treat First

Prosecutors responsible for domestic violence cases were present at the meeting, representatives from Kosovo Police for the Prizren region, judges, victims' defenders, representatives from the Centre for Social Affairs, Housing, the Office for Free Jury Assistance, as well as officials from the Sproving Service.
Chief prosecutor Shala from those in attendance called for full co-operation and co-ordination among competent institutions, with the aim of taking necessary action, for handling such cases to have full priority, and for them to be done and responded urgently.
The participants at the meeting agreed on the need to build more direct reports even with the victim (damaged) of domestic violence. In this direction the co-ordinator for domestic violence by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren, Mehreme Hoxha, introduced police officials from a copy of the risk assessment as well as the order for emergency protection, with the recommendation that, in the future, a criminal outcry, be met by the victim and the risk assessment form. At the end of the meeting, all participants estimated that it should deepen further co-operation and hold more frequent meetings in order to increase the mechanisms of protection against domestic violence”, the communiqué said. /
