Mitrovica's president a month ago met with President Hashim Thaci, with whom he said they agreed to work for the unification of the city (Mitrovica) to preserve territorial integrity and for the situation of Albanians in the Presevo Valley. But today, Agim Bahtiri has warned that she will attend a Vetevendosje rally before the 29 September protest against Thaci.

Kosovo is going through a difficult political situation, resulting from the wrong actions of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who has started territorial exchange talks with Serbia in opposition to his duties and without a mandate from the Assembly of Kosovo. So I invite the citizens of Mitrovica to attend tomorrow's (Saturday) gathering organised at the Culture Centre “Rexjep Mitrovica”, where we will talk with VV chairman Albin Kurti, about the situation that the political class and all the people should say, "stop"! ”, writes Bahtiri on Facebook.

I assure the citizens of Mitrovica and the country, that the situation in the country is calm and stable, and that in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, nothing will happen from what different media warn, as Kosovo's respective state institutions are able to protect the country's borders and give an adequate response to those who want to destabilise the situation. I also met with KFOR Commander Salvatore Cuocchi and that he has received assurances that KFOR soldiers are willing to carry out their mission properly, as they have enough capacity to maintain peace and security throughout Kosovo”, Bahtiri writes.
