About 8 thousand and 600 members of the Kosovo Police are expected to receive the increased salaries. With the approval of the Law on Salaries in the Assembly, they will receive 525 euros per month, or about 200 euros more than the current salary. But when that will happen is not yet known. Co-ordinator for the Development of State Reforms Besnik Tahiri has said they are interested in putting this matter forward as soon as possible. While the police salary increase costs the state budget over 12m euros annually.
Kosovo police will finally increase their wages. Even with the Law on Salaries, they seem to be the most privileged. With this law, salary increases are expected to benefit about 8 thousand and 600 police officers. That's what the number of Kosovo Police members is.
Of 319 euros, what is currently a police salary, with the adoption of the law in the Assembly, they will receive 525 euros and more, depending on the responsibility the police have.
And raising police salaries is expected to cost the poorest state budget in the region more than 12m euros per year.
At least that's how the Coordinator for the Development of State Reforms, Besnik Tahiri, has declared.
Tahiri has declared that with the Law of the Salaries, the main beneficiaries are the police. While, it declares that by this law all members of the Kosovo Police will benefit, without exceptions.
“With the Law of Salaries, the main beneficiaries are the police sector in number, and also directly on pay. In the history of the salary hike, for the first time the police in Kosovo were raised the basic salary of 319 euros as far as 52o euros are behind, depending on its responsibility, they continue with the additions for risk and work experience”, Tahiri has said.
Until it is convinced that this law has addressed all requests that the police have had.
This law benefits all members of the police, yet what it has to say is that this time the police leadership, that's the highest degrees in focus, are behind the police, starting with the police, the top police officer from around”, he said.
But when exactly the cops get their salaries on the rise, Tahir doesn't even know that. But, he says they are making efforts to postpone the issue as soon as possible.
“Lugs have gone to the approval point in the Assembly. We had four days ago, which was due to September 12th, a discussion with the parliamentary Commission responsible for sending these laws away, to this parliamentary commission where representatives of all political parties are participating, we have agreed to have a longer discussion, so that we can discuss all positions so that the commission is very clear, and the convents know exactly what effects these” have, Tahiri has announced for Express.
And on the salary issue, besides Tahiri, it seems that other ministries have no knowledge. In each of the ministries responsible for the case, they have passed responsibility to each other, and no one has answered.
Meanwhile, in the police have said that there are more than 8 thousand and 600 uniformed employees and civilian staff coming from all regions of Kosovo so far.
They claim that most of them are males until they say that members are of different ages.
And when asked what a policeman's current salary is, they have declined to elaborate.
“Work hours and their salaries are set according to the rank or position of the work they exercise. Their age is different”, says police responses.
Meanwhile, there has been much discussion for the age of police members. In fact, Kosovo police, by connoisseurs of security issues, are considered, like the oldest police in the Balkans.
