According to the announcement, after detailed control by customs units in hidden spaces (built for smuggling) 480 thousand pieces of cigarettes “Chesterfield” and another 20 thousand “Pall Mall”, all with Macedonian banners, so 50 large packages.
While, criminal fraud for tax evasion has been prosecuted against the suspect.
Customs has organised this action with the aim of preventing cigarette smuggling.
After securing information via operational routes last night around 20:30 in the Podujevo region, customs teams have stopped a truck carrying animals and trying to exit Kosovo's territory at the Merdare border crossing. After sea control in hidden spaces (built for smuggling) 4800 pieces of cigarettes have been found “Chesterfield and 20,000 pieces of cigarettes “Pal Mall” all with banners in Macedonia (total 50 large packages).
After finding this amount in consultation with the competent prosecutor the goods have been seized, while the suspect has been interviewed and sent to custody. The allegations have been prosecuted for tax evasion of some 30,000.
