President Thaci, said he is committed to reaching an agreement, despite the likelihood of agreement being minimal, writes Periscopi.
I have made it clear that opportunities to reach agreement with Serbia are minimal. However, efforts must be made to reach a historic agreement. I am committed to reaching the agreement, and under these efforts, I have proposed overhauling the border with Serbia, as the only opportunity to consolidate the historic interests of the Albanians in the Valley, to join Kosovo. Not the partition of Kosovo, not the exchange of borders, but the union of Valley”, the president said.
Thaci praised that only by reaching agreement with Serbia, Kosovo opens its doors to membership in international organisations.
“Only by reaching agreement with Serbia as neighbours, we make sure that Kosovo can secure the Euro-Atlantic perspective, in NATO and in the UN. Without good neighbourly relations, Western Balkan countries cannot join the EU and other bodies”, Thaci said. /Periscopi/
