Killing in Gjakova gathers justice and security leaders in the country

Chief State Prosecutor Aleksander Lumezi has hosted Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, Minister of Internal Affairs Baytush Gashi and Kosovo Police Department Director Rashit Qalaj to discuss the tragic event that occurred two days ago in Gjakova, where one [...] was deprived of life.
Leaders of the rule and law institutions have expressed their deep concerns about the event and have pledged to make a thorough investigation into the course of handling this case by law bodies.
During the meeting, the parties expressed full readiness that in the event of the identity of eventual neglect by each official person tasked with preventing the circumstances of this event, accountability will be required and the official persons responsible will be brought to account.
The rule and law institutions estimate that this tragic act is the last moment of reflection for a very serious approach to state policy, which is in the function of the defence and security of the lives of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo by any possible violation.
Leaders of rule institutions and law institutions encourage all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and institutions, which have responsibility in this area to co-operate closely in effective prevention of any life violations that could threaten Kosovo citizens, indiscriminately.
Lumez has said in front of co-ordinators that law enforcement and protection by the Office for Protection and Relief of Victims under the Office of the Chief State Office will provide more efficient services, with which cases should be clarified that even courts within time periods judge the heads of domestic violence in order to prevent any crime of large proportions.
Chief Prosecutor Lumezi, Minister Tahiri, Minister Gashi and Kosovo Police Operations Department Director Qalaj confirmed their commitment to ensuring an effective state of law and security, which is in full function of protecting life, freedom, property and human rights for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
