Trump's fierce opposition came after the White House chief made personal comments to the American chief prosecutor during an interview. Trump has been extremely severe in his criticism of the Justice Department. He has been particularly frustrated with the investigation management of Russian intervention in the 2016 general elections.
The session, once a supporter of Trump's campaign, gave up the investigation into question and left him in control of his deputy, Rod Rosenstein. This decision, but further progress of the investigation under the direction of special prosecutor Robert Mueller, has brought frequent explosions from Trump, both personally and via the social network “Titter”.
Two days ago, in the most dramatic development to date related to the investigation into Russian intervention, former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort was found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion, while former US President Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to charges involving tax evasion, bank fraud and violation of the campaign funding law.
As long as I am the attorney general, the justice department's actions will not be adversely affected by political considerations, he said in a statement. I ask for the highest standards and, if they are not met, then I'll intervene”.
In the previous interview for “Fox and Friends”, Trump said he did not want to get involved in these discussions. But the moment everyone sees what's going on in the Department of Justice, then I impose justice through quotations”.
This is a very sad day. Jeff Sessions withdrew while he shouldn't have done that. At least he should have told me. Even my enemies say Jeff Sessions should have informed me of his withdrawal, or that I should not have appointed him. He accepted the commission and then said that he could not do the task. I wonder, what kind of man is this? And by the way, he was also part of the campaign. Do you know why I gave him that post? Because I believed in his loyalty, since from the beginning he was my supporter. He was part of the campaign and knows he didn't have co-operation (with the Russians). And what we learned from Manafort and Michael Cohen is that there is no collaboration”, Trump said.
