The Speaker of the Parliament, Kadri Veselini, has condemned threats allegedly taking place against the families of members of the Kosovo Security Force from the Serb community.

Wessel has even confirmed that Kosovo police have arrested 5 people suspected of these threats.

He, in a statement on his Facebook page, has said that such provocations from Serbia do not contribute to normalising reports in the Balkans.

The threat of families of members of the Serb community's Kosovo Security Force is unacceptable. We condemn all acts aimed at destabilizing Kosovo and violating the lives of our citizens. And we assure all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, regardless of ethnicity, that we will protect them. Today, the institutions of order and security in Kosovo have fulfilled their duty, arresting five persons suspected of breaching security and order. The continued efforts of Serbian politics to prevent and damage the integration of Kosovo Serb citizens are contrary to the principles of good neighbourlyness, the interests of Serbian citizens in Kosovo, European values and aspirations for EU integration. Kosovo institutions are always ready for dialogue and good neighbourhood. Any provocation from Serbia, which hurts this process, does not contribute to the interests of both countries aimed at normalising relations and stability and peace in the Balkans”, Veselin wrote.
