Deschamps as France's player had won the World Cup in 1998. On Tuesday, as France's coach, he led his team to the 1-0 minimum victory over Belgium.
The 49-year-old is not the first man to have touched a World Cup final as a coach, but also as a player.
Franz Beckenbauer had achieved double success with Germany's representation, Periscopi reported “DailyMail”, broadcast Periscopi.
He had won the World Cup in 1974 with West Germany as a player. In 1990, he won the World Cup as Germany's coach by defeating Argentina 1-0.
Rudy Voller had reached two World Cup finals in his career. But in one of the finals, he lost 3-2 to Argentina in 1986.
But under Beckenbauer's orders, he was part of West Germany's victory four years later.
Voller then leads Germany as a coach in the 2002 final, where he will be defeated by Brazil 2-0.
The first person to have won the World Cup as a manager but also as a player was Mario Zagalo./Periscopi/
