In 1998, Davor Suker's momentum with friends was stopped in the semifinals by France, which was later proclaimed world champion. Two decades later the history of this confrontation is repeated, but now it is worth a World Cup.

In the case of Sunday's final, the Croatian Football Federation has invited just 1998 heroes. On the list of 20 players are the largest names of Croatian football in the 1990s, while finding Ardian Kosnik as well. Born in Gjakova, the Croatian naturalist, was part of that team that two decades ago made all of Croatia's few fans.

List of 23 players collected in 1998: Drazen Ladic, Marijan Mrmic, Vladimir Vasilj, Goran Juric, Zvonimir Soldo, Slaven Bilic, Igor Stimac, Dario Simic, Igor Tudor, Ante Seric, Robert Jarni, Zoran Krunoslav Jurcic, Mario Stanic, Silvio Maric, Robert Prosinechki, Aljoshaanovic, Zvonimir Boban, Davor Shucker, Ardian Koznik, Goran Vlaovic, Petar Krpan.
