Bushati: There are orchestrated strategies holding back freedom of relations with Greece

At the conference with his German counterpart, Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati spoke of the performance of the agreement with Greece. He spoke of an orchestrated strategy to keep relations between Greece and Albania hostage. Bushati: We are in an intensive dialogue with Greece, time is important in international relations, in some cases it is critical. We've taken substantial steps on some issues considered until a few years ago taboo. We're on the table both for limiting sea zones and issues related to land border management, management of border incidents and pyramids. But unfortunately, we see clearly the day that there is an orchestrated strategy to keep it hostage and not allow the Albanian-Greek relationship to release the energy it can.
We need to understand clearly that the first has not been easy to sit at the negotiating table, even on matters whose existence was denied. The second at a negotiating table triumphs in no circumstances the unilateral will, but the principles of international law, the equality of the parties in a process which has already been about 10 years on the issue of limiting maritime zones discussed in different forms in a much larger intensity from 2014 onward. Following the debate, but not only the media debate, but also the various political consultations that have been developed on this issue, given the authorisation issued by the president of the republic and the infirmity that I have later released for the entire negotiating team, I have noticed that in some cases there is even uncertainty about what is required. We believe we are on a good track to reach an agreement on the three issues I explained at sea or on land. An agreement which will be applicable, fair and much better than the ones we've seen in the past and the fact that we've learned some bitter lessons from past mistakes, despite those who made those mistakes today shout more at any media today as allegedly breaking up Albanian lands or the next betrayal of the Albanian nation and so on.
I think all political actors need to act responsibly on this record. I don't know if there is a well-designed strategy or is cocidence the fact that both the opposition in Greece and Albania share the same position on the issue. The fact that there are objections to both Albania and Greece with what we are doing on the Greek side is on track.
