Avramopolos: Kosovo has met criteria for visa liberalisation

“A key chapter in our common history: Kosovo meets the criteria for visa liberalisation”, Avramoopoulos has said.
“After many years and months of efforts and hard work, the Commission already confirms that Kosovo has met all standards for visa liberalisation. Now, we encourage the Council and the European Parliament to move forward with our proposal. I really hope that we are very close to a visa-free regime for the entire region, which will be decided very soon”, Dimitris Avramopolos, European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Staff has stressed.
Kadri Wessel, Kosovo's chief parliament after today's meeting with Moghrin, said the recommendation for visa liberalisation is the first step towards entering into force of the decision.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said the European Parliament, 29 August or 30 August, would meet to approve the EC's decision, and then go to the Council of EU Ministers to pass even to the level of the Order ministers, where it said it would be a little harder, “but we are very hopeful that we are now closing a very important topic for the country's citizens of”.
