Ahmeti made these comments during his meeting with Switzerland's ambassador to Macedonia, Sybille Suter Tejada, where they discussed political currents in the country but also Swiss support for institutions and processes in Macedonia.
DUI leader Ahmeti first spoke of the political situation with cʹrast praised the major achievements within the first year of governance such as rounding up the Ohrid Agreement norms, urgent reforms, the good neighbourly agreement with Bulgaria and the agreement on cross-checking the name with Greece.
Ahmeti stressed that Macedonia will receive an invitation for NATO membership at next week's Alliance summit in Brussels, while last month we also received the date for starting EU membership negotiations.
Next, Ahmeti spoke of the particular importance DUI places on reforms in the judiciary and in general systemic reforms, adding that rule of law is also the prerequisite for economic development and credibility of the country's institutions.
Switzerland's ambassador, Tejada, dismissed projects supported by Switzerland in Macedonia, including the previous activities in terms of co-operation with political parties, Ahmeti said DUI fully supports these efforts and expressed gratitude to the Swiss government for all the assistance provided.
