At a meeting with French counterpart, Chief Parliamentary Veselini discussed co-operation between Kosovo and France in all areas, as well as expanding relations between the two parliamentary countries.
During the meeting, Chief Parliamentary Wessel expressed gratitude for France's continued support for all the far-reaching processes in Kosovo, while demanding the continuation of Paris's official support, especially now for closing the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens this year.
“France is one of our allies on our Euro-Atlantic journey. We expect the support of this state of freedom and independence. We made a pledge for support, particularly for Kosovo's EU integration and of course for visa liberalisation, which is very important for Kosovo citizens. I am happy that we will have France's support in the parliamentary field, in terms of the big decision to liberalise visas”, said Chief Prime Minister Wessel.
The head of the Kosovo Assembly said that after meeting all the initial criteria, the goal is to have visa liberalisation for citizens this year, for young people, intellectuals, academics, entrepreneurs, so that Kosovo citizens feel equal to citizens of other countries.
And this will happen. We are putting together this effort, position and opposition. I thank MPs from all political and ethnic groups. This is a good mirror of our state, after all that we've been through for the past three years”, the chief officer Veselin stressed.
According to a communique of the Parliament, Speaker Veselin and members of the delegation announced in detail, De Rugy for the progress Kosovo has made on its Euro-integative path, especially intensive legislative activity, in the function of meeting the duties set by the European Union for Kosovo institutions.
France's National Assembly President Francois de Rugy, praising the progress Kosovo has noted in fulfilling the tasks required in the European integration process, confirmed French support for Kosovo in the future as well.
