On the eve of World Refugees Day, Pope Franzescu and the Holy See in the Vatican have honoured Albanian emigrant Petrit Kozeli with the title "Conder of the Order of St. Silvestri of the Pope."

“A pair of shoes signaling peace for a common route”.

This is the inspiration of the daily work of Albanian immigrant Petrit Kozeli in his simple shoe shop in the town of Mantoto. Since 1991 he lives in this city with his family.

Once a photographer's profession in Tirana, Petriti today is a professional shoemaker, a trade he is highly dignified and creative.

Albanian Petrit Kozeli as the best example of a new Italian citizen, an integrated immigrant in socio-economic life and with a valuable contribution to it, was assessed in 2014 by Italian President Giorgio Napolitano with the title Cavalier of the Italian Republic.

A pair of shoes with colors of Italian national flag with dedication “Put these shoes together for better and more prosperous Italy! ” was the gift he gave to the president of the Italian Republic.

If you want to know what Italian substate is, go to Petrit Kozel's workshop,”-has told him about the mayor of Mantova.

Shoes worked by it are the symbol of common travel between locals and immigrants and new Italian citizens.

But a pair of shoes with the Albanian flag and the two-headed eagle were worked by Petriti specifically for Pope Francescu.

Today 4 years later, the Albanian shoemaker has received another important title. By a special decree, the Holy See at Pope Franzescu's Vatican has praised him with the title Conmensator of the Order of St. Silvestri of the Pope.

It is the first time in the history of the province of Mantova that a citizen is honoured with such a title by the Vatican and the Holy Father himself, and, above all, a Albanian immigrant receives this assessment.

Kozeli was hosted at the Albanian Embassy in Rome by Ambassador Anila Bitri, who praised both the Italian state and the Vatican as the best example of an Albanian immigrant in Italy. /Oranews
