And Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has declared today that recognition of Kosovo's independence from Serbia is not part of this compromise.
After the end of the meeting, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that compromise resolution of the reports between the two countries is necessary, but has not mentioned anything concrete.
“A compromise solution is important for Serbia”, Vuciq has said. Vuciq has also added that this solution should be favourable for the citizens of Serbia and Kosovo. “
But. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has reiterated that Serbia will not accept any ultimatum.
If you want to compromise, we're ready. If you insist that Serbia accept Kosovo's declared independence, then we should not waste time with this”, Dacic has said. The Serbian president has stressed that involvement of major powers is necessary in order to compromise. In statements prior to the Kosovo President Hashim Thaci's meeting between Belgrade and Pristina, Dacic has added that he welcomes the US's contribution and support of dialogue. The European Union has stressed that it was and remains the only mediation in dialogue, but will also respect everything both sides agree on.
