The only Albanian MP in Serbia's People's Assembly, Fatmir Hasani, for the Belgrade news agency “Beta”, on Wednesday 27 June, has been declared voting against laws for national minority councils, since, according to him, the common changes of national minorities have not been respected. MP Hasani, as writes to us Sevdail Hyseni, warned that he is preparing for Albanian-language Albanian to be presented before lawmakers of the Republic of Serbia, because the new law on national minorities makes it possible.
MP Hasani tells “Beta” that from next week, he expects the Parliament Secretariat to provide an interpreter, where his presentations will be more frequent.
The “will be much better, because I sincerely for a presentation into the Serbian language assembly, I need to prepare twice as much, since it is not the same as in my mother tongue. So far, I have first written the speech on paper and I have often not been able to take the word on specific issues without preparation, except for a few brief questions “, Hasani points out.
He declared that despite the new laws bring some good, he in principle has not voted them out because his party, the Party of Democratic Action, has not supported the parliamentary majority since late last year, as the Serbian government has not shown progress in meeting Albanian requirements, which were assessed as acceptable by Serbian officials” Hasani said.
MP Hasani has added that he has not voted for national council and national minorities laws, because they had not considered his demands for increasing the budget for national councils, and that party officials may at the same time be official in national councils.
The main amendment is that the laws in practice are very difficult to implement, but, above all, my request has not been accepted, that in ID and passport, the names and surnames of national minority citizens are written in two languages, in the Albanian-Serbian case”, Hasani has said.
MP Fatmir Hasani has voted against laws for national minorities, who have awakened an additional media interest from Belgrade because, according to them, Albanians are not complying with Serbia's laws, writes the news agency “Beta”.
