The alarming situation was set up last Friday night at Duz High Security Prison, after Bedri Krasniqi, sentenced for 44 years for police murder and kidnappings, tried to escape for the second time.
In 2008, Krasniqi, however, had managed to escape from Dubrava Prison and thus committed a kidnapping for which he was later sentenced to 17 years.

Kosovo Correcting Centres Information Officer Jeton Kabashi has told Express that the raids at this prison are done every time in order to raise the security level, so not denying even the effort to flee that night.
From this institution, they even say that “has not been evacuated since the foundation of”.
He has not even agreed to speak to High Security Prison Director Rasim Selmani.
Bedri Krasniqi is convicted of killing police officers, Sebahate Tolaj and Yusuf Haklajt to 27 years in prison and kidnapping businessman Azem Morina, and charges of murder against him have not yet ended.
He is also accused of killing the two policemen that occurred in 2004, UNMIK police officer Possibly Essuman and Kosovo Police, Arsim Rrutoll.
However, Friday evening was not the first time Bedri Krasniqi had tried to escape from prison, in 2008, he had managed to escape the Dubrava prison, where he was serving the sentence for the murder of Tolaj and Haklaj. After two years of running away, he was arrested in 2010 in front of his home.
During this two-year period, Krasniqi kidnapped the owner of the firm “Glareva” Azem Morina and his criminal group, in exchange for Morina's head, demanded 3m euros.
For this criminal offence later, Bedri Krasniqi was sentenced to 17 years in prison and was sent to prison for two sentences.
Following Bedri Krasniqi's escape from Dubrava Prison that took place in 2008, the Justice Ministry had then suspended 18 officials from that prison.
On March 23rd 2004, Bedri Krasniqi, along with his group, is accused of killing a UNMIK member and a Kosovo Police member, shooting a tinnikov towards their 108-time car.
