In December 2008, Al-Zaid was the world's spotlight after throwing shoes at Bush, who was on a visit to Iraq.
A decade later, Al-Zaidi again appears in public. Saying he stands for the interests of his countrymen in the political arena, he is running for parliament in the upcoming elections, to be held 12 May, “reports RT” Transmission Periscope.
Seeing as a journalist he had no chance to change the political situation in Iraq, Al-Zaidi said this decision had been made to change his country's destiny.
In an interview for “Al Bawaba Nea” he vowed to end corruption, stop money laundering, pension cuts for Iraqi officials, and protect the rights of ordinary citizens.
Al-Zaidi has soon begun to win supporters, where some potential voters have begun to disperse his propaganding posts.
I'm not alone in this world. There'll be another one like me, said Al-Zaidi./Periscopi/
