Fashions of the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement will be discussed at the next meeting, have warned at the Kosovo Presidency Office. That will happen despite lack of consensus within Kosovo on the topics and the leading role of President Hashim Thaci.
The president's office has expressed itself scheduled to introduce discussions of the final phase, whenever EU High Representative Federica Moghrin calls.
Bekim Colak, adviser to President Hashim Thaci, has said that, in addition to the discussions of ideas and proposals for the final agreement, “will always be discussed in the implementation of agreements reached so far”.
The dialogue process for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is now in place in its final phase. So it is totally predictable and expected that the next meeting will discuss the modalities of the final agreement, which should mark the full normalisation of interstate relations. This for Kosovo certainly means nothing less than mutual recognition”, Colaku has said of “Koha Ditore”.
Bekim Colak has said President Thaci is mandated by the Constitution to lead with foreign policy in this case with dialogue.
The president does not need any additional mandate from any other state institution, including parliament. So, of course, the president will continue to represent Kosovo and lead the process of dialogue on normalising relations with Serbia at every next meeting, whenever he is called by the Moghrin mediator”, he has said.
But, according to him, dialogue on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is a very important and of national interest.
“In the service of this, reaching a broader political and social consensus would be a very important complementary element under this process”, he added.
According to Colak, an inclusive political support is welcome, which could come out of either a new parliament resolution or a joint statement by political parties.
“Such a thing would witness institutional and social maturity, which in the topics of vital state importance, we know how to join and work together”, he added.
Colak has said it is now clear that the process of dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia has been introduced in its final phase.
