Almost half of the planet is made up of the ocean, beyond international boundaries, which is all of them.

In fact, leading scientists say that we should guard at least one third of our oceans to allow them to build devices to resist multiple threats that are developing worldwide.

And that's for one of the most remote regions of the land Antarctica.

The Antarctic Ocean is one of the largest in the desert world, and it is home to a spectacular biodiversity from killer whales to sea star, reports “Al Jazeera”, broadcast Periscopi.

An effort is now being made to create the largest protected area in the world ʹ Massive Sanskoons of the Antarctic Ocean. It would cover 1.8 million square miles [1.8 million sq km] of the remote and wealthy Weddell, houses for some of the coldest waters on earth and some 14,000 species.

The proposal, formulated by Germany and supported by the European Union, will come with a decision that other national groups will meet in Hobart, Australia, in October of this year.

The marine protection zone will provide a safe haven for wild animals such as whales and penguins.
