Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq said his country is facing a difficult battle “for preserving independence”.
“ ... because when we talk about Kosovo, we don't talk about what we should, so Kosovo, but its powerful defenders. It is a problem when you should talk to those who destroyed Serbia in 1999 and have recognised the state of Kosovo in 2008. They are very powerful”, Vuciq said in Nis, broadcast the Balkan Radio Service Free Europe.
Vuciq said that, in this policy, Serbia should be reasonable and rational, preserve its independence, protect the country and not endanger it in any way.
“want to have peace and future”, Vuciq said.
Kosovo and Serbia are holding high-level talks on normalising relations.
It has been said that the parties should reach legally binding agreements for that purpose.
