Symbolic Action on National Day for Undiscovered Persons

The Young People's Initiative for Human Rights in Kosovo today organises symbolic action on the occasion of National Day for Undiscovered Persons.

According to the announcement, the action will be realised from 8:00 to 21:30, at “brahim Rugova” Square in Pristina.

“Since the end of the recent war in Kosovo, 18 years ago, the fate of over 1600 people who are considered undiscovered are not yet seriously treated by the Government of Kosovo. Therefore, victims' families and Kosovo society continue to face denial of the right to know the truth and the right to justice. Unfortunately, the same importance in Kosovo is not paid to the victims, apart from ethnicity, so we organise activities on this subject twice a year; on National Day for the Unemployed; and on International Violence Day. Since 2008, %Y The IHR KS is the only youth organisation that in its activities raised a voice for non-Albanian war victims. Despite the demands of the society and family of missing persons, the Government of Kosovo has devoted particular importance to other topics, but has failed to put this topic into the Brussels dialogue, due to the Serb side's disinterest. We believe that Kosovo society will not be able to reach a lasting peace and reconciliation without addressing issues related to the war, including the fate of unspotted persons. This is once a warning to all post-war governments who have neglected this issue.
