Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, will visit Afghanistan on Friday. The visit has been interpreted as historic and is said to help reduce tensions between the two countries.
Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Faisal said Abbass will discuss a range of issues, including ways of facilitating talks between Kabul and the Taliban.
Afghanistan and the United States have long accused Pakistan of providing safe shelters for terrorists operating in Afghanistan, charges dropped by Islamabad.
Ahead of the pchanified trip, Abbas said that “nobody wants peace in Afghanistan more than Pakistan, because we are most affected by terrorism”.
