Astronomers have discovered 14 different galaxies that nearly crashed into the Universe. The surveyed object is marked as a galactic prototype and represents the forerunner of a larger galactic cluster that could be born.

The galactic flocks are large structures made up of several hundred to a few thousand galaxies connected through gravity.

It has been assumed that the space surrounding the 14 surveyed galaxies is four times larger than the galaxy of our Milky Way, and this is the first time the prototype has been discovered, writes Independent.

What is, however, very surprising to scientists is that such prototypes should not be formed in the next billions of years.

The common idea is that galactic herds require much more time to gather and form. However, SPT2349 tells us that this happened much faster and more explosive than in the previous case and certainly more quickly said in theory,” said Scott Chapman of Canadian University Delhauzi.

Scientists believe that the galactic cluster, called SPT2349, is 10 trillion times larger than the sun. The flocks of these sizes usually contain large masses of dark matter and black holes.

Experts believe that due to the speed of formation, the galactic cluster SPT2349 can at one point become one of the most popular objects of the Universe.

“While the formation of such large galaxies has become so fast, it is now a mystery. It has not been formed gradually for billions of years, as astronomers would have predicted. This discovery is a great opportunity to finally find out how large galaxies are able to build such a large flock, ” said Tim Miller from Yale University.
