At the meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has stressed the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to supporting reforms in justice, in order and law, at the same time budgetary support for rule institutions and law.

“Kosovo is going through a significant period in general reforms, reforms that are necessary, but reforms also, which focus the justice system and which are beginning to yield results”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said, confirming that the Government of Kosovo will support reforms in justice, in order and law, through budgetary support for these institutions.

Prime Minister Haradinaj cited the fact that the Government he heads, so far, has held a series of high-level meetings for rule of order and law, in which the leaders of the rule and law institutions, of fighting crime and corruption, have reported the situation in these single institutions to achieve, challenges, but have also set goals for the future, most of which are related to fighting corruption.

Prime Minister Haradinaj said that even in the field of trial, much work has been done, which will be summed up in a joint publication with the help of relief acts, European Commission, US Embassy, and thereby prove that Kosovo is really serious in fighting corruption, organised crime, against all sorts of crime and threats from our society.

“Wanting to confirm this as a process and as a competition which has the dedication of the highest-level institutions, as confirmed today, institution carriers, budgetary support and support of broad opinion, then I am convinced that Kosovo will return to stories of success in fighting corruption”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said and added that Kosovo's European perspective, towards candidate status, will be supported precisely by strengthening the rule and law, as well as the fight against corruption.

Prime Minister Haradinaj cited the fact that visa liberalisation is a more urgent issue the country's citizens have been waiting for, voicing confidence that in the coming days, the European Union could deliver the long-awaited news of visa liberalisation.

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said Kosovo would continue to strengthen the fight against organised crime and corruption. “Although you know it is not an easy process, we have the will and commitment to move forward in the fight against these negative phenomena and will continue to remain uncompetitive to corruption and organised crime”, President Thaci said.

In this case, President Thaci commended Prime Minister Haradinaj for the government's growth budget for all institutions and agencies dealing with the fight against corruption and organised crime, stressing that only with such co-ordination of all institutions would we succeed.
