She has been asked whether she would visit Belgrade after the recent tensions between the two countries.
The call to visit Belgrade remains and no one has cancelled”, said Chitarovic, who added that if there is any need for specific orders for Serbia, they will send Periscope, reports.
“However, my position is for Croatia to continue to protect the membership of all Southeast European countries”, she added.
The Croatian president said they are ready for dialogue with Serbia, except for that mutual concern is needed.
I am willing to continue co-operation, but concrete steps from Serbia must be taken before that. There have been positive things between the two countries, but now we have to go further into bilateral relations. Good neighbourly reports are needed to resolve all disputes with Serbia. But, however, we will preserve the dignity of the Croatian state and citizens”, she said.
On the issue, she indicated that she has also discussed with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkov, but that they have not discussed the possible withdrawal of Croatian Ambassador from Belgrade.
On the other hand, the Croatian prime minister has warned that he will take measures against Serbia, only that he is waiting for the Croatian president's return from Skopje./Periscopi
