The US estimates that Syrian leader Bashar Al Assad has used chemical weapons at least 50 times since the beginning of the conflict, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said.
“The recent use of poisonous gas against the residents of Dumas by Syrian President Bashar Al Assad was not the first, second or third time even the 49th use of chemical weapons”, she said at the Security Council.
“Yet the US has not yet decided on actions in Syria”, Haley said at the Security Council.
Russia called on this urgent meeting to discuss the threat of military attacks by the US and its allies France and Great Britain in response to the alleged chemical gun attack in Duma, Syria last weekend.
