Presenting the draft law with changes, Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said this bill is aimed at raising efficiency to the highest degree of the system that is the Prosecutor.

This bill, according to the justice minister, is the government's obligation to emerge from the European reform agenda and implement the SAA plan.

Regarding this bill, the LDK has raised its concerns.

MP Arben Gashi said empowering the chief state prosecutor could set the precedent for arbitrary behaviour.

According to him, the LDK's concerns are related to the competencies of the chief prosecutor who has the right to appoint subjects and prosecutors to the Special Prosecutor.

However, Gashi hopes within two readings there will be opportunities for the relevant Commission to review and improve those remarks the LDK gave.

The same concern with Gashi has been raised by Deputy Bilall Sheriff Initiative.

According to him, empowering the chief prosecutor could lead to neglecting the key task that is the prosecutor's management.

The State Prosecutor's Bill has been supported by parliamentary parties that are in the ruling coalition.
