At the time, all countries, except for Kosovo, launched free movement within the Schengen Zone.
This continues to be impossible for Kosovo citizens, but not for politicians who lead this state. Kosovo is the only state in the Western Balkans that still cannot move without visas. In exchange, the European Union requires concrete and visible actions in fighting corruption, organised crime, and also the vote on border demarcation with Montenegro.
Eight years ago, when Albania and BiH began to move freely, they joined all other states that did not need travel visas in the Schengen area. The leaders, who lead Kosovo, do not have the problem of their citizens. The visas are easily received, and most of them have decided to have Albanian citizenship, a privilege that citizens do not have.
The last to be equipped with Albanian passport is Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Albanian passport has the country's president, Hashim Thaci, but according to his advisers, who have refused to speak before the camera, he does not use it.
In the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament, Kadri Veseli, meanwhile, they have said he does not accept citizenship other than Kosovo.
