Natalia Apostolova, at a conference with Veselin, has stressed that ratification of the demarcation draws Kosovo towards visa liberalisation, but, according to her, more jobs must be done even in the fight against organised crime and corruption, Periscopi writes.
I'd like to say that we're close to solving this issue, so it's very important for the mayor to vote the demarcation tomorrow. This is an obligation. Ratification will be an important step on the road to visa liberalisation. Kosovo has yet to fight corruption and organised crime, but ratification of demarcation draws us towards visa liberalisation”, Apostolova said.
She said that two important steps have been taken in recent weeks on the demarcation issue, which has been pending for more than two years.
“We have had a regular meeting with the speaker and I would like to mention that we have had two very important steps on the demarcation issue with Montenegro in recent weeks. The first step has been the joint declaration between the two presidents -- the one of Montenegro and Kosovo. The second step is the agreement almost among all political parties that took place over the weekend, among the PDK, AAK, Initiative, Group 6+”, it has said.
Apostolova has asked the Parliament's deputies to think of their citizens, saying tomorrow's visit by the EU's top delegation is possible for a step forward.
“Deputes should think of Kosovo citizens. Visa liberalisation opens up opportunities for students, businesses, job creation and economic development. You mayor and all political parties in the country should not miss this case tomorrow. President Juncker's high-level visit, Commissioner Hahn and High Representative Moghrini is an extremely good opportunity to represent the inclusion in the Assembly for the state of Kosovo towards EU integration. Please help us so that we can help you too”, she said. /Periscopi/
