“We are here to ensure the complete loss of ISIS,” said Lieutenant General Paul E. Funk, during a visit to American troops in Manbiy.
The United States is in co-ordination with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) led by the Kurdish People's Protection Unit (YPG) Turkey considers a terrorist group that have occupied Manbij's territory by I SIL in 2016, reports “Hurriyet”, broadcast Periscopi.
Manbiji was hailed as an early success story in the American-backed fight against I SIL, but now the scene is growing regional tensions.
Funk's visit has resulted from the rise in tensions between Turkey and the US, the NATO Allied forces that have ended up on opposite sides in some aspects of the multi-ethnic war in Syria.
