Ukraine's Ambassador to Belgrade, Oleksandr Alexandrovich, has said it was not a good move that the Republic of Kosovo made a decision to transform the KSF into the Army. But he has also criticised Serbia, which at the United Nations General Assembly yesterday voted against Ukraine, reports Express newspaper.
We say that it is not good, and that we do not support the establishment of the Kosovo Army, because we do not recognise Kosovo as an independent state. Security Council Resolution 1244 must be respected”, the Ukrainian ambassador has said.
He has said this is a clear position of Ukraine, and that “will continue to view the declaration of independence as a partial act, and Kosovo is seen as a sovereign part of Serbia”, writes B92, broadcast newspaper Express.
At the same time at a media conference, he has criticised Serbia for voting against Ukraine at the General Assembly.
The “really don't understand this move of Serbia. We voted against Kosovo membership in Interpol. We are witnessing with concrete steps that we will not accept Kosovo's independence”, Alexandrovich has said among other things.
He has recalled that during the July visit Ukraine's president, Petar Poroshenko, had in Belgrade, the parties had agreed not to vote against each other. However, he says Serbia was one of 19 states that voted against the Ukrainian resolution against Russia's military presence in Crime.
