In the last two weeks, three former guerrilla elites have been contacted by The Hague tribunal with an invitation to interview them”, writes the radio, removing the sentence, writing earlier that “and President Thaci may be among the guests from the court”.
Swedish radio had said Thaci would be invited by Special
Sweden's public radio “Sveriges Radio” has reported that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci may be among the guests for an interview by the Special Court in The Hague.
The radio article said that Thaci could be one of the people who will be the target of this court, as during the war in Kosovo he was a leading part of the KLA, known as “Gjarpri”.
“Vet President Thaci is one of those who may be subject to The Hague tribunal”, writes this radio in an article, broadcast Koha.net.
This information, however, says “Sveriges Radio”, not confirmed by the Court yet.
The court has begun sending invitations to former KLA fighters, including Sami Lushtaku, Rrustem Mustafa, Ramiz Shala, Safet Syla, Sokol Dobruna, Nazif Mehmeti, and others.
The radio further says the investigation into alleged crimes by them has been difficult. He says few of them have dared to testify, and those who have testified, in many cases after the pressures of evidence have changed.
At the same time, “Sverges Radio” says many Kosovars consider the new court to be deeply unjust as it deals only with crimes allegedly committed by one side in the war.
