Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted after the Kosovo Government's plan to form the Army.
Pristina's plan to form the military poses violations of the UN Security Council Resolution and is another destabilising and provocative step following the decision to impose tax on goods imported by Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a report.
“Pristina has unveiled plans that on December 14th to strengthen the decision to transform the military forces”, the Russian MPJ report said.
“Such a step will be a direct and clear violation of the Security Council Resolution, which is the only international legal document regarding resolving the Kosovo issue”, it is said to be continuing.
The resolution envisions the commitment of only international multiethnic troops in the region. The Kosovo government's decisions on forming the military can bring serious consequences not only to settlements with Serbs but also throughout the Balkans”.
“Pristina Sponsors -- the EU and the US -- must put greater pressure on Kosovo on their provocative decisions and not allow the toughening of”, the announcement by Russia's MPJ concludes.
