The Kosovo Journalists' Association (AGK) has taken the news of the unreasoning departure from the parliamentary Commission's meeting for Media, where the Kosovo Radio Television Board reported on the annulment of the competition for General Director of RTK.
Journalists have announced that the commission's chairman, Nat Hasani, has closed the meeting without giving media clarification without even voting his decision.
For AGK, this fact presents censorship that directly affects media work, causing them to interfere with obtaining information. This is contrary to the constitution's regulation, with which it clearly determines when a commission can be closed to the public.
“Recall that the discussion of the public broadcaster shows particular interest for all citizens and journalists in general, when it is known that RTK is financed by Kosovo taxpayers' money”, the AGK's reaction is said.
The AGK strongly supports the professional work of all institutions and believes in the basic principles of the profession, also engages in a favourable and secure environment for journalists in professional work exercises.
We remember that this commission is not the first time that it closes to the media when it discusses Kosovo public television issues”, it is said in AGK's response.
