Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti has said that this year the anti-corruption week is being marked in a year full of corruption like no other.
Kurti further estimates that, instead of having courts accusing peace criminals, the Special Court will handle war crimes appears.
Instead of having normal courts that accuse, judge and condemn peace criminals, we have special courts that will handle war crimes. According to the “Public Perceptions of the Kosovo Special Court” published by Pax, Netherlands: “Objection about the Special Court of Kosovo is widespread, since (for example) 35.4% of Albanians and 18.9% of Serbs, who consider themselves informed about the Court, wrongly believe it will prosecute crimes related to corruption and the capture of the state”, Kurti wrote through the social Facebook network.
With the Haradinaj government's recent decision in reference, Kurti has said that there will be no increase in fighting crime for growing salaries for prosecutors.
“The number of specialised prosecutors for organised crime and high corruption and their preparation should be increased, the legislation will be revised and the prosecution restructured with new conduct even outside the now prevalent trajectory, as well as re-organise the jurisdictional exam for combating the capture of the state and financial crime. And that means first one or two prosecutors who do not fear the president's prime minister, the perpetrators and other wrestlers, but rather feel fear at them”, has ended first of Vetevendosje.
