Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Ciarto has reacted to the statement by the commissioner for Jedn Hahn, who today said he does not believe Hungary will extradite Gruevski.
“The enlargement commissioner must care for enlargement, not for legal processes in EU member states”, Hungarian diplomacy head Peter Syarto said during the EU Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs meeting. The EU General Affairs Council meeting will be held tomorrow, which will partially devote itself to rule of law in Hungary.
One of the questions to be raised is the closure of the Central European University in Budapest, but it is not clear whether Gruevski's case will be opened, as the EU considers this case a sovereign issue.
