Daciqi does not believe UN KS will demilitarise Kosovo Army

Serbia's Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, has said that Serbia, at today's UN session of the Kosovo Army, will seek to respect Council Resolution 1244, demilitarise Kosovo and that KFOR is the only armed force.

He added that the formation of the Kosovo Army is a direct violation of Resolution 1244, and that it would be logical for the UN's KS to make a decision for the “anulation of that organisation”, but said it does not expect such a thing will happen after the country's different political stances, but stressed that “is of the importance of what stances have in place of the Resolution”.

Daciciqi said it is important that such an action, such as the formation of the Kosovo Army, “is condemned”.

According to him, “Resolution 1244 speaks clearly of the deilitarisation of Kosovo, and that the formation of the Kosovo Army is a return to the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK)”.

The head of Serbian diplomacy said that in the UN's KS, Serbia will be represented by President Aleksandar Vuciq, while, according to him, Kosovo will be represented by President Hashim Thaci, but that he will be referred to as “sir, not as president”.

According to him, to keep this session, no state has been opposed, but “Great Britain, the US, France, Poland and the Netherlands have been for closed hearings, while six states have requested open session”.
