Meng Wanzhou, Huawei's leading financial official and deputy chairman, was arrested in Vancouver on December 1st, the BBC reports.

Details of arrest have not been granted, but the US has investigated Huawei for possible violations of sanctions against Iran.
The embassy of China in Canada protested the arrest and demanded her release.
Huawei said there was little information about the charges and there was no “conscious of any wrongdoing by Mrs. Meng”

The arrest comes at a delicate time in terms of US-Chinese relations.
Nations are engaged in a trade war, while both countries tax billions of dollars for each other's goods.
The arrest will not help in the 90-day tariff ceasefire that the nations agreed on after President Donald Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping met in G20.
